      Description

When you run OpenNMS in a container environment the default mechanism to stop a running container gracefully is by sending a SIGTERM or SIGINT (Strg + c). The application can listen for this signals and can release resources and shutdown gracefully.

OpenNMS uses right now a different mechanism to initialise the shutdown procedure using JMX. Whenever OpenNMS gets stopped the SIGTERM and SIGINT is ignored and it gets force killed with a SIGKILL command.
