UX for Appliance Cloud Connect

Description

We need a design for a UI that prompts a user for permission to connect a Horizon Classic system to the OpenNMS Appliance cloud service. Potential paradigms include:

  • On / off switch

  • Opt-in checkbox

The end result of switching on this functionality is that the Horizon Classic instance will register itself to the appliance cloud service, making it available as an "Instance" for a user of thee cloud portal to connect to one or more appliances.

Acceptance / Success Criteria

Acceptance:

  • User is given a binary choice about connecting their instance to the cloud service

  • User is provided a basic explanation about the implications of choosing affirmatively, along with a link to more detailed info

  • Design meshes with work already done for Cloud Connect Key

After much discussion, this issue shakes out as a duplicate of https://opennms.atlassian.net/browse/NMS-14606#icft=NMS-14606 – in the end we are building a single UI to cover both the cloud activation key and the connection to Appliance Service and TSaaS.

Just saw this screen in a demo.

and :

What happens if the user disables the feature after enabling it?

I have some updates for the screen text.

Where does the link for more detailed information go? We can provide a link to the docs, but still need to write the content.
