      Description

I've witnessed some lingering confusion lately, mostly from newcomers in the IRC channel, about acknowledgement of events still being "a thing" despite it having been deprecated since before OpenNMS 1.8. After investigating a bit, I saw that we still show bits and pieces of the user interface elements for event-acking even when OpenNMS is configured to hide it. I've made some tweaks to the event list and event detail view JSPs to hide these vestiges by default. They're still shown in full if the secret property is flipped to "true".
