syslogd logs "No hideMessage configured" though it is really not needed

    XMLWordPrintable

    Details

      Description

      due to the xsds specification the syslogd configuration doesn't need a hide message config:

      <element name="syslogd-configuration-group">
      <complexType>
      <sequence>
      <element maxOccurs="1" minOccurs="0" ref="types:ueiList"/>
      <element maxOccurs="1" minOccurs="0" ref="types:hideMessage"/>
      ...

      but if omitted syslogd.log will contain hundred of thousands of entries like

      WARN [SyslogReceiverJavaNetImpl-Thread-13] o.o.n.s.ConvertToEvent: No hide-Message configured.

      Obviously they are created for every received syslog.

      We are using
      parser="org.opennms.netmgt.syslogd.Rfc5424SyslogParser"
