    Details

      Description

Monitoring the disk utilization is an important key metric. Especially for the servers running applications with high IOPS requirements. OpenNMS itself requires a lot of IOPS in large environments and the monitoring for this metrics should be enabled by default.

The following metrics for a drive should be collected from UCD Disk IO MIB

      • diskIONRead: COUNTER, The number of bytes read from this device since boot.
      • diskIONWritten: COUNTER, The number of bytes written to this device since boot.
      • diskIOReads: COUNTER, The number of read accesses from this device since boot.
      • diskIOWrites: COUNTER, The number of write accesses to this device since boot.
      • diskIOLA1: INTEGER32, Legal values: 0 .. 100, The 1 minute average load of disk (%)
      • diskIOLA5: INTEGER32, Legal values: 0 .. 100, The 5 minute average load of disk (%)
      • diskIOLA15:INTEGER32, Legal values: 0 .. 100, The 5 minute average load of disk (%)
      • diskIONReadX: COUNTER64, The number of bytes read from this device since boot.
      • diskIONWrittenX: COUNTER64, The number of bytes written to this device since boot.
