We are trying to store a "peer mac address" from an oid into an asset field. When the asset adapter fetches the value from the oid and stores it into the database, it looks like "....��" and not a hex string.

A change was added on December 19, 2010 that unified the SNMP data formatting between trapd and the SNMP asset adapter. MAC address fields will now be formatted in familiar colon-separated format and non-ASCII OctetString values will be formatted in base64 encoding. Marking as resolved.
