Metadata DSL: [OPTIONAL] Consistent *-config.xml Configurations

Description

Various credentials are stored in the OpenNMS configuration files. This issue covers the work for the two remaining *-config.xml configuration files, which are pretty similar to the files vmware-config.xml or wsman-config.xml. So, it would be nice to be consistent with these files:

  • wmi-config.xml

  • nsclient-config.xml

Goal is to allow the use of metadata DSL in the credential fields, so secrets can also be stored in SCV.

Acceptance / Success Criteria

  • Any credentials are interpolated by the Metadata DSL, so credentials can be also stored in SCV.

  • Documentation at least notes the possibility to use meta-data DSL.
