I suggest:

• “Got It” for the button

• Use Jeff’s proposed wording, with a slight adjustment: “Your OpenNMS instance shares anonymous usage statistics by default. Our privacy policy governs our use of this data to improve the software. Click Learn More for directions to opt out.”

• Text on the usage stats page in the screenshot Jeff shared looks fine.

At this point, I think the questions are:

• Leave the wording on this button as “Dismiss” or else use “Got It”

• Leave banner wording as is, or use Jeff’s proposed wording or something similar

• Leave similar wording on the Usage Stats page as is or use Jeff’s proposed wording or something similar

Will leave this open for a few more days for someone to make a decision (it’s not obvious to me that there’s a clear answer, and the current wording seems technically correct, if not optimal), then close this without changing anything, we can revisit as needed.
